2009 Events and Projects

As part of the 70th Anniversary Celebrations of our Goforth WMS Group, a potluck dinner was held for the Congregations of Knox Mountain and St. Paul's Kemptville. The guest speaker was the Rev. Samer Kandalaft who spoke about his life in Syria and Lebanon.

With congregational support, the WMS collected several large boxes of personal  care items which were distributed, at Christmas time, by the local Salvation Army.

Four bricks to help with the construction of a new hostel
for students at the Jobat Christian School in India, were purchased.

Two Sundae Sundays were held and the proceeds from one of these events was used to  purchase school supplies for one elementary and one secondary school student in Eastern Europe.

Members helped with the Mission Awareness Sunday Service in April and were happy to hear Sarah McIlveen speak of her trip to India.

The Group hosted the May meeting of the Brockville Presbyterial.

WMS members helped the Church School with their Mission Luncheon on Palm Sunday and, in December, prepared Santa Treat Bags for the Church School.

                                            ------------------------------

In 2010, we look forward to carrying out our purpose of keeping ourselves and the Church involved in local and World Mission.
